Getty ImagesAt his current pace, kicker Dan Carpenter will work for every team in the NFL.
By October.
The veteran kicker, who has been cut by the Dolphins, Cardinals and Jets in a little over two weeks, is about to have another new address.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Carpenter is expected to sign with the Bills.
That’s a quick turnaround for the Bills also, after they released veteran Rian Lindell so they could keep sixth-round pick Dustin Hopkins.
UPDATE 7:22 p.m. ET: Schefter reports the decision was made to bring in Carpenter when Hopkins suffered a groin injury in practice today.
Wait, huh? Unless they release Hopkins to make room for an interior lineman this makes no sense.
Why? What’s wrong with Hopkins?
Dan Carpenter is a really good kicker.
If Hopkins is not available for Week 1, Carpenter should be good enough to get us by until he returns.
The preseason injury bug has not been very nice to the Bills this year. Manuel, McKelvin, Elliott, Kolb, B. Smith, D. Smith, Legursky, S. Johnson, Chandler, Byrd, Gilmore(Which is a huge loss), Hairston and now Hopkins. Buffalo has got to be cursed, really cursed.
Super Bowl?
These Injuries will never end…
Doug Flutie, the Bills are sorry for cutting you… please release your curse on this team.
Rob Johnson was terrible and we have suffered ever since. Bills fans, if we just all write apology letters to Flutie on behalf of The Bills Brass, we may at the very least have a winning record soon.
QB issues, K issues…how will they score?
