The Giants didn’t have to look far to fill seven of the eight spots on their practice squad.

The team brought back seven players they waived on Saturday, offering those players the chance to build on the work they did with the Giants over the summer while giving the Giants players experienced in their schemes to build up in hopes of getting contributions in the future.

Among the returning Giants are cornerback Charles James, who was an effective punt returner for the team in the preseason, and guard Eric Herman, who was selected in the seventh round of the draft this season. Defensive end Adewale Ojomo spent all of 2012 on the Giants’ 53-man roster, but only played in one game.

The rest of the players signed to the Giants practice squad are defensive end Matt Broha, offensive lineman Stephen Goodin, wide receiver Marcus Harris and wide receiver Julian Talley.
