Arthur Jones illness not “life-threatening or anything”

The Ravens will be missing a starter this week, as defensive lineman Arthur Jones is already ruled out while getting tests for an undisclosed medical condition.

With the emphasis on undisclosed.

“I’d rather leave an explantion of Art’s situation up to Art,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. “It’s not anything that’s like life-threatening or anything like that. It’s non-football related. We’ve got to get some tests done to make sure that he’s OK. Until the tests come out the right way, he’s not going to be able to play.

“It’s something I’ve been told now that they can’t tell you how long it’s going to be. It could be a week, it could be indefinitely. We don’t think it’s going to be the second part. He’s going to see a specialist here on Wednesday and he can explain to you exactly what it’s about, to whatever extent he wants to.”

Jones was at the team facility today, but didn’t talk to reporters.

Until he returns, Marcus Spears will likely start in his place, for however long that might be.

Arthur Jones will be all better once that ice cream truck stops by.

Hope he gets well, but it looks like the great Oz didn’t do his homework. Non-football related “injuries” don’t just happen suddenly, on their own.

    Another advantage for the Broncos.

These guys are already sick of having to listen to Joe Flacco pre-game speeches…

Obviously the specialist will turn out to be a urologist.

    Get well soon.

Kind of crazy how no one outside of the ravens organization seems to know what is going on with him. That just doesn’t seem to happen these days.

What does he have!?!?!?!?!? Oh well, whatever it is, I hope he gets better soon. Gotta respect the man’s privacy.

So it is personal, unrelated to football, and no one wants to disclose the situation… HIV? Baltimore isn’t far from DC, and DC is the HIV capital of the world (not literally)

Translation: We’re keeping Arthur Jones away from football until the trade for Kenny Britt is finalized.

(Kenny Brit is about to become a Baltimore Raven)

  13. watermelon1 says: Sep 3, 2013 3:36 PM

Yeah… Because the ravens would really trade their ONLY linebacker. After Jones… It’s scraps.

The Ravens are not trading Arthur Jones.

    Loyalraven.

I doubt that. And I hope I’m right. Britt is a basket case

How in the world do you miss a game because of an infected hemorrhoid? Too weird to not be true….

No one is disclosing it because of HIPAA. It’s a non-football related injury, and disclosure of that information without the player’s consent is a violation of federal law.

Players sign waivers of disclosure for football injuries.

Hmmmm…my guess its either a proctologist or urologist that Art will be seeing.

If it were his tonsils or ingrown toe nail it would have been mentioned already.
