It’s looking more likely that the Broncos will be without cornerback Champ Bailey when they face the Ravens on Thursday night.

Bailey did not practice today, according to the official injury report distributed by the team.

As we previously passed along, the Denver Post reported today that Bailey had his helmet on and was taking normal reps in practice. But the media sees only the first five minutes of practice, and while Bailey may have been doing whatever constitutes “normal reps” in the first five minutes, the Broncos say Bailey didn’t do anything that constitutes practice at all.

Bailey said this week that he is “very close” to being ready to play for the first time since suffering a sprained foot on August 17. But he’s not ready yet, and the start of the regular season on Thursday night is also very close.
