Colts linebacker Pat Angerer may not play this week against the Raiders, after a slow-developing concussion.

According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, Angerer said he suffered a concussion on the first play of the preseason finale against the Bengals. He went onto play 22 more snaps of defense (and three on special teams), then practiced Monday, Wednesday and Thursday before going to the training staff to complain of symptoms.

I kind of thought it would go away. It didn’t,” Angerer said. “The hard part is you don’t know what a concussion, . . . is supposed to feel like.

“That’s kind of what we’re dealing with.”

Kelvin Sheppard would start at middle linebacker until Angerer is cleared by the league’s concussion protocol.
