The beating the Ravens took last night was thorough and convincing.

And they’re ready for another shot.

After allowing a record-tying seven touchdown passes from Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning in a 49-27 loss, the Ravens weren’t backing down.

“The great thing is it’s Week 1,” Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs said, via Tom Pelissero of USA Today. “It’s one game. But I guarantee they will see us again.”

Granted, the last time the Ravens went to Denver, last year in the playoffs, the result was as different as the weather. After beating the Broncos in overtime in icy conditions then, the Ravens wilted in the damp heat.

“We’ve got some things we’ve got to fix, tighten up, obviously,” Suggs said. “But will we go in the tank? Is the whole season down the drain? No. It’s one game. It’s one game. All this game tells us – we’re not going to go 16-0. And I think the whole world knew that going in.”

The world did not know the Ravens were going to give up a franchise record in points allowed (previously, 46 by the Patriots in 1996).

The changes they made were significant, replacing many key veteran starters and role players. That leaves a lot of work to do before they ask for a rematch.
