Manti Te’o out for Monday’s game

Manti Te'o AP

What seemed apparent this week became official Saturday, when the Chargers announced linebacker Manti Te’o was officially out for Monday’s game against the Texans.

Te’o hasn’t practiced since injuring his foot in the preseason opener, and though he did a bit more work on the sidelines this week, he still wasn’t ready to play after taking nine snaps in the preseason.

That leaves Bront Bird to start, with a few newcomers (Terrell Manning and Reggie Walker) expected to contribute.

Otherwise, the Chargers are healthy, as all the other names on the injury report are listed as probable.

Maybe the Texans should – in his honor – run an imaginary tight end out there so he can pretend to be covering someone.

Te’o is overrated anyway. he’s slow and can’t shed blocks. Only reason this guy gets all the hype was he played for ND and had a fake dead girlfriend. Te’o is the Tebow of LBs, media attention no skill.

    Fact.

Look “I’m Judgemental”, Te’o jokes are funny.

Deal with it and stop telling people what is funny and what is not. Seriously, QUIT BEING A BUZZKILL.

    Te’o jokes make ME laugh.

Or “get in the hole” comments at a golf event.

Wait, so he has barely played all pre-season and now he’s not playing in the opener? Who saw that coming?

I hope every guy who beats this guy on the field humps the air in front of him.

Manti Te’o is having an imaginary NFL career. This will last about a year and then, he will have to get a real job to support himself.

  21. citizenstrange says: Sep 7, 2013 6:12 PM

IMO …. the Chargers only drafted Te’o because in some weird way they thought that he would be as popular of a player and put butts in the seats like Seau. They didn’t compute the lack of NFL caliber talent into the equation. A super big first round bust swing and a miss.

How is that pick workin’ out for you Chargers?
    LOL

  23. joshtanney says: Sep 7, 2013 8:23 PM

Hasn’t even played an NFL game yet and people are dismissing his NFL career. Yikes.
