What seemed apparent this week became official Saturday, when the Chargers announced linebacker Manti Te’o was officially out for Monday’s game against the Texans.
Te’o hasn’t practiced since injuring his foot in the preseason opener, and though he did a bit more work on the sidelines this week, he still wasn’t ready to play after taking nine snaps in the preseason.
That leaves Bront Bird to start, with a few newcomers (Terrell Manning and Reggie Walker) expected to contribute.
Otherwise, the Chargers are healthy, as all the other names on the injury report are listed as probable.
