Nick Mangold to locker room after arm injury

Dallas Cowboys v New York Jets

The Jets ended the first half on a high note with Geno Smith’s first career touchdown pass, but the second half didn’t keep the momentum rolling.

Center Nick Mangold has returned to the locker room after appearing to injure his right shoulder or arm while blocking on a play that ended with a Buccaneers sack of Smith. Fullback Tommy Bohanon banged into Mangold and the burly center remained down for a bit after the end of the play.

He left under his own power and got some medical attention on the bench before heading to the back. He’s the best offensive lineman on the Jets and the most important given his role in helping make the blocking calls. That’s even more crucial with a rookie under center.

Caleb Schlauderaff has taken over for Mangold.
