Sanchez has partially torn labrum in right shoulder

Injured Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was goofing around in pre-game warmups, throwing left-handed.

It might be the only way he throws soon, depending on what the next wave of doctors tell him.

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the former Jets starter has been diagnosed with a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder, and will seek a second opinion this week from Dr. James Andrews.

Sanchez is inactive today as expected, and the Jets cut Brady Quinn with the intention to re-sign him next week when his salary isn’t guaranteed.

That leaves just Matt Simms backing up Geno Smith today against the Buccaneers, but the bigger questions will be when Sanchez comes back, and whether it matters by the time he does.
