Sanchez has partially torn labrum in right shoulder

Mark Sanchez AP

Injured Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was goofing around in pre-game warmups, throwing left-handed.

It might be the only way he throws soon, depending on what the next wave of doctors tell him.

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the former Jets starter has been diagnosed with a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder, and will seek a second opinion this week from Dr. James Andrews.

Sanchez is inactive today as expected, and the Jets cut Brady Quinn with the intention to re-sign him next week when his salary isn’t guaranteed.

That leaves just Matt Simms backing up Geno Smith today against the Buccaneers, but the bigger questions will be when Sanchez comes back, and whether it matters by the time he does.

What an end to a puzzling career, doubt if he will be in uniform this season.

As a personal trainer who has had a torn Labrum… There are chances his arm will never be the same… He might want to stop goofing around and take throwing left handed seriously. He couldn’t be any worse throwing left handed than Tebow!!

Hey, who knows? Maybe he’d suck less if he threw left-handed…

Oh wait… right. This is Sanchez we’re talking about!

He probably throws better with his left arm.

Funny. Can’t throw right-handed, but was shown arriving at the stadium dragging a suitcase… with his right arm. Guess he didn’t take acting classes at USC.
