The Bears re-signed offensive tackle Jonathan Scott on Monday, the club announced.

With Scott returning, the Bears waived tight end Kyle Adams to make room for the tackle on the 53-player roster.

Six days earlier, the Bears signed Adams and released Scott in advance of their Week One game vs. Cincinnati.

As PFT noted last week, the 30-year-old Scott is a vested veteran who likely would have had his salary guaranteed for 2013 were he on the Week One roster.

Scott, 30, has started 35 regular-season games. He has played for the Bills, Lions, Steelers and Bears. He started five games for Chicago at right tackle in 2012.

The Bears also announced they had re-signed quarterback Jerrod Johnson to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, they released offensive guard Derek Dennis from the practice squad.
