Apparently, having 15 stitches in your throwing hand is an issue for an NFL quarterback.

According to Mark Long of the Associated Press, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said starter Blaine Gabbert would be out this week after suffering a cut on the same hand as his previous broken thumb.

That means Chad Henne would start Sunday against the Raiders, though Bradley said he thought there was a chance Gabbert could return the following week at Seattle.

Gabbert was 16-of-35 passing for 121 yards and two interceptions in Sunday’s 28-2 loss to the Chiefs. The Chiefs staked themselves to the former first-rounder prior to the broken thumb, giving the team’s new administration a chance to see if he can play or not before deciding whether (or when) to upgrade.

Bradley also said cornerback Dwayne Gratz would miss the next three weeks with a high ankle sprain.
