Wide receiver Duron Carter, the son of former NFL star and current ESPN analyst Cris Carter, hauled in his first professional touchdown Sunday for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

Carter, who had a collegiate stint with Ohio State and had tryouts with Minnesota and New Orleans this spring after going undrafted, scored on a 45-yard reception early in the fourth quarter against the Toronto Argonauts.

Matched up against Argonauts/ex-NFL defensive back Pat Watkins, Carter feigned as if he were running a shorter route, then streaked down the sideline, gaining separation from Watkins. Carter hauled in the pass, then leaped into the endzone, holding the ball over the goal line with his right hand.

Carter, who has worked his way up from the Alouettes’ practice roster, has caught eight passes for 210 yards for Montreal, which fell 37-30 to Toronto on Sunday.

The Alouettes are 4-6, two games back of Toronto in the East Division.
