Ed Reed is inactive for late game

As expected, the Texans career of safety Ed Reed won’t begin tonight.

Reed, the former Ravens star who signed with Houston after Super Bowl XLVII, is inactive following offseason hip surgery.

Also inactive for the Texans in Monday night’s second game are quarterback Case Keenum, linebacker Darryl Sharpton, linebacker Sam Montgomery, tackle Andrew Gardner, guard Cody White, and tackle David Quessenberry.

Shiloh Keo will start in place of Reed.

For the home team, the following Chargers won’t dress:  quarterback Brad Sorensen, receiver Seyi Ajirotutu, safety Brandon Taylor, linebacker Manti Te’o, linebacker Tourek Williams, guard Johnnie Troutman, and defensive end Drake Nevis.

Bront Bird will start in place of Te’o, who suffered a foot injury in the preseason opener.

At least he’s practicing with the team – he’ll play either next week or definitely the week after against Baltimore.

They won’t need him at all the Texans have plenty of Dbs that will catch those ugly passes right handed Tebow will throw

Yeah…. the Ravens screwed up letting him walk, LOL

Foot injury? He should be with the Jets where that foot could get the right level of TLC. Ahem.

Good move Ed, Coach Kubiak! Rest him next week too versus the Titans. Bring him full speed in week 3 against the Ravens! 🙂

No need for him to go even though he can…Ravens fans can keep thinking they’re better off. 49ers are laughing at them (Boldin, remember?) now and Texans will be laughing at them during week 3. In Ozzie We Trust, lololololol.

As this was obviously expected…. its a non story…

I’d be a bit surprised if he plays next week… he’s DEFINITELY playing week 3.

Is Ed Reed’s hair all white now?

Isn’t that the guy from The Wire?

The Texans should fire whoever medically cleared Reed. And they should sue Reed for fraud.

Well, that was expected. Let’s see if he plays any meaningful time this year. Seems like the Texans tried this when they first started.

Looks like they could use him in pads

  13. watermelon1 says: Sep 10, 2013 3:25 AM

Yeah… Because the ravens really looked like they had no problems defending the pass.

I’d say they screwed up royally letting reed and Boldin go to pay flacco.

Just wait until week 3. Reed will be on the field… Picking off flacco multiple times.

All-star but done. Retire already Ed!

  15. scoobies05 says: Sep 10, 2013 11:07 PM

yes…flacco’s under 7 million dollar cap hit really kept the ravens from keeping boldin and reed. you sure know your stuff

Reed won’t be back for Baltimore! He’s too scared to come back to Bmore.
