Brandon Jacobs is getting his wish, and David Wilson might be getting just what he needs.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, the Giants are signing Jacobs after he worked out today.

The 49ers suspended Jacobs last year, after what seemed to be open pining for the good old days with the Giants (even though they had cut him for salary cap reasons).

Now we’ll find out if he has anything left. The 31-year-old back played in just two games last year, and hasn’t had 200 carries since 2009.

But he should at least be a trusted option in short-yardage situations, as well as someone who can mentor Wilson.

Last year’s first-rounder fumbled twice against the Cowboys, the second straight year he was benched for turnovers in the opener.
