Coughlin already tired of talking about David Wilson

It appears the only thing Giants head coach Tom Coughlin hates more than David Wilson fumbling is being asked about David Wilson fumbling.

Coughlin had to know it was coming in the first full day back at practice after the former first-rounder coughed it up twice against the Cowboys. And he said early on that Wilson was “careless” and that he was a “marked man” for opposing defenses.

But then the normally even-keeled coach lost patience.

Geez. Man, oh man, oh man, oh man,” Coughlin said, via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. “I can’t say any more about David Wilson, except that if I watch him in practice and his technique doesn’t improve, I’ll let you know. OK? I’ll let you know.

“In practice he’s going to have to have the ball in that position all the time, not just when he thinks he’s running free and there’s nobody around him. I want to see the ball in the right spot all the time.

“And quite frankly there’s nowhere else to go with this. I don’t know what else to say to you. I realize it’s a major issue for everybody. But there’s a way to carry the ball and there’s a way to protect the ball. Ball security is No. 1. And that’s what he’s going to have to demonstrate.”

So Tom, about Wilson, . . .

Coughlin added a “Let’s talk about David Wilson!” when he left the stage after his press conference.

If he’s this salty with reporters talking about Wilson, imagine for a moment what it’s like to be Wilson himself.
