Report: Von Miller has arrest warrant in California

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller can’t seem to avoid running into traffic related problems. When he does get in trouble, he makes matters worse by avoiding the issue in the hopes it will just go away.

According to Mireya Villareal of CBS 11-TV in Dallas, the suspended Broncos’ linebacker has an open warrant out for his arrest in California for failing to appear on a traffic ticket last year. It’s the exact same issue that led to his arrest last month after failing to appear in court on charges of careless driving, driving without a license and without proof of insurance.

A spokesperson for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office told CBS-11 the warrant was issued after Miller failed to appear on a speeding charge. Miller’s attorney Mark Schamel told the station it’s a $240 ticket for driving 10 miles an hour over the speed limit. He added “I’m hoping to have this cleared up in the next 24 hours.”

Nevertheless, Miller can’t seem to keep out of trouble. He was cited again last week in Colorado for driving with a suspended license and speeding. He’s currently serving a six-game suspension for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.

suspend this clown for a year before he hurts someone driving around with no license. Hit his pocketbook and maybe he’ll get his ass down to the DMV like the rest of us.

They did fine without him. Cut him and move on, not worth the distraction.

This guy needs to get his driving problems fixed. He obviously has no clue, and now he’s suspended for
his substance abuse, maybe it’s time to “wake up” before it’s too late. It’s amazing that someone making the money he does, can behave like a complete idiot. Grow up for god sake, and behave like an adult.

  8. claymatthewshairplugs says: Sep 11, 2013 10:52 PM

Damn I always thought Von Miller was a model NFL player. Seems like there’s some skeletons in the closet with him. Von do us a favor, you’re great on the field, stay out of trouble how hard is it to get a driver?

  9. jbaxt says: Sep 11, 2013 10:52 PM

  20. beavertonsteve says: Sep 11, 2013 11:03 PM

Hey Von, do you realize you are such a moron you aren’t even allowed to have a drivers licence anymore? You should not even own a car unless you have hired a full time driver to chauffeur you around. It’s idiots like you that are incapable of driving around like a normal person and end up smashing into one of us. I hope one of these courts decide to finally put a stop to your nonsense and punish you with something you’ll pay attention to., or maybe it will fall upon daddy Goodell to put some sense into you.

  29. kylexitron says: Sep 11, 2013 11:07 PM

I just don’t get it. You see interviews and stuff with this guy and he seems like one of the brighter more responsible athletes out there. And then he throws that all in the garbage for no good reason.

Must be the glasses he likes to wear.

  30. theverifiedtruth says: Sep 11, 2013 11:07 PM

What makes this so stupid is that he doesn’t even have to show up in court for these. He makes millions but $100 traffic lawyer is too pricey?

  31. sweetnlow44 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:08 PM

Is it really that hard to take care of common responsibilities like paying traffic tickets? What’s with this guy? He still needs his mommies help to get him through life.

  37. beerinmybelly says: Sep 11, 2013 11:13 PM

I am a lifelong Broncos fan and I can’t wait for the first home game with Miller back so I can boo every time he walks onto the field.

    What an irresponsible, selfish ass.

  38. hendeeze says: Sep 11, 2013 11:16 PM

While I do feel the media is now piling on, with trivial matters. Von has enough money to pay a attorney to deal with these “hassles” I’ve had the same ticket myself and all you needed to do was bring proof to the judge and you would just walk out with a fine and a waste of a morning. All Von had to do was call his lawyer to take care of it and couldn’t even do that. Just stupid. But really its a trivial matter no reason why the nation needs to know about his traffic violations

  39. jbl429 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:16 PM

So is he going to be arrested when he goes to San Diego for the game on Nov 10?

  40. sfm073 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:17 PM

How dumb can one person be

  41. motobus says: Sep 11, 2013 11:19 PM

To be fair a lot of traffic citations require a court date no matter if you pay the fine beforehand or not. If I were to get a traffic ticket in California, and I lived in Colorado I probably wouldn’t make the trek back to court either.

Your paid millions of dollars to play a game. You are paid millions of dollars to master the art of handling a ball. You are paid millions of dollars to entertain. Acting like this is blatant disrespect for your fans, and I personally hope to never again see him in a Broncos uniform.

  47. keifer1751 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:27 PM

    Dear Von Miller,

You are an awesome linebacker. That is a fact. I feel pretty sure that Mr. Elway and company don’t think much of you right now. I know that you will learn to like Buffalo. Good bye and good luck.

Wow, it’s great to see cops have all the real crimes in the world solved (murde, rape, robbery, frau), so they have time to keep us all safe from people who drive 1o mph over the speed limit. That’s some real quality police work right there.

  54. dbroncos1824 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:30 PM

Seriously? Come on Von. Get it together already. It’s not like you don’t have time to handle this…..

Does anyone else see a pattern here? Entitled athlete who hasn’t figured it 0ut yet.

How about he just sit out the entire year to think about growing up?

LMAO @ his attorney, “it’s a $240 ticket for driving 10 miles an hour over the speed limit. He added “I’m hoping to have this cleared up in the next 24 hours.”

I wish I could clear up my legal matters with DMV, courts or the like in 24 hours! Must be nice. (SMH)

Broncos still will find a way to lose. That’s what Manning does in the postseason

How is this any of our business? Mr. Crabtree, do I care if you have any speeding tickets? Contrary to popular opinion, football players are not role models. They are objects of our entertainment. There are some that do drugs, steal and even kill just like regular hooligans that don’t play football. Why are we putting them on a pedestal so much that every time they sneeze we put in on the internet?

At the NFL rookie symposium they go over this stuff, yet guys seem to think they are immune. I’m a Von Miller fan, but a player’s reputation is worth a lot more than the fines he is paying. It just doesn’t make sense to do this stuff.

  67. jlv3gem says: Sep 11, 2013 11:52 PM

  71. brucetrimble says: Sep 12, 2013 12:13 AM

When you consider that two front office executives were arrested for alcohol related driving offenses this year, I believe that Von’s issues are a reflection of the Broncos organization. There is obviously something wrong with how the organization views this type of behavior that enables Von to act to irresponsibly.

  72. moss49thteam says: Sep 12, 2013 12:33 AM

  74. anhdazman says: Sep 12, 2013 12:46 AM

Does that mean he won’t be coming to Oakland for any games?!

Oakland PD arrest him off the field while warming up for a game. That would be epic.

  75. ravenousmind says: Sep 12, 2013 12:57 AM

Cut him….not a personality any team should want around their rookie’s and young guys. Cancer!

  76. jimthebuilder27 says: Sep 12, 2013 1:12 AM

People who say this guy is better than Clay Matthews should listen to this: Matthews has never been suspended, and he’s never gotten in trouble with the law.

The only thing Clay Matthews did wrong was the hit on Kaepernick on Sunday, and he even owned up to that and admitted it was stupid.

When will Von Miller admit that he’s been doing a lot of stupid??

  77. BleedGreen987 says: Sep 12, 2013 1:22 AM

If you Bronco fans want to cut him over a few unpaid traffic tickets and some ecstasy he took at a frat party before he was drafted, I’m sure there are 31 other teams lining up to take this colossal locker room cancer.

  90. furious76 says: Sep 12, 2013 11:22 AM

I think Von Miller may need a ‘life coach’ in his next contract similar to the one Dez Bryant has.

It’s really not that hard to live inside the bounds of the law, especially the laws relating to having a drivers license and speeding.

Just hire a personal driver Von, you’ll spend less than you are about to on lawyer fees and court costs AND you avoid the risk of making the situation worse.

  91. johnnyprc says: Sep 12, 2013 3:47 PM

I really don’t get people. Its a traffic ticket related bench warrant that is automatically issued for someone not showing up to a contestation hearing.

The responses seem on the level of he is suspected in a murder.

Dumb no doubt – but its something cleared up by paying a fee.

  92. bmckay3 says: Sep 12, 2013 8:15 PM

Everyone get off your soap box. Stop acting like a 24 year old with traffic court problems matter.
