Von Miller cited for driving with suspended license, speeding

Cardinals Broncos Football AP

Von Miller just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

The suspended linebacker of the Denver Broncos was arrested in August for failing to appear in court on traffic charges including careless driving, driving without a license and without proof of insurance.

Now he’s apparently run into more traffic problems in Denver. According to CBS4 in Denver, Miller was stopped again by law enforcement last week and cited for driving with a suspended license and speeding.

Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson told the station Miller was not jailed for the violation. Nevertheless, it’s a second instance of Miller driving a vehicle without a license.

Miller is currently serving a six-game suspension for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. Combined with his traffic issues, Miller has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons the last few months.

    One thing this country seems to be getting away from is having local police let the players slide on DUI and speeding.

    Can you imagine the pressure on the men of law enforcement who has to write another ticket or arrest the 5star local player, knowing there are probable negative consequences… for both of them?

    In the good old days, they players would of been able to sleep it off and be driven home.

    This also seems to be the case for domestic violence, too. Good for the Law!

    Good grief! As a Bronco fan I am starting to get worried about using such a high pick on Miller. He was supposed to be all the best things in an NFL player but lately he’s just fudging up left and right.

    DEN needs Miller on the field and playing. The dope better get his act together and soon.

  28. edithpiaf51 says: Sep 11, 2013 2:11 AM

    I think Miller better shape up. He is valuable to the Broncos but he has to behave more ethically by obeying the traffic laws and not using drugs. NFL players are role models and their behaviour must set an example for youth to emulate.

    I’ve lived in many states east of the Mississippi river and in all if you are driving with suspended license then off to jail you go.

  115. miamimike1 says: Sep 11, 2013 9:30 AM

    This isn’t about being 24 or stupid or thinking he’s above the law. There is more going on here. This kid needs to be evaluated by a doctor. Is he bipolar or have some other issue going on? He is suspended for six games and lost about 2 million dollars in total pay. He didn’t learn from that. He is not in control of his actions. He is acting on impulse like a kid with ADHD. You don’t forfeit 2million dollars and keep making these mistakes unless something more is going on. I would like to see a reporter go research his college or medical history for issue’s that have not been reported prior. He is close to being suspended for the entire year. Someone needs to get this young guy help. Its obvious he can’t make his own logical choices. He is smart enough to know right from wrong. He now has to learn control from acting on impulse. Denver you also have a lot riding on this young man you better get him help now before its to late.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    He shouldn’t have been driving in the first place. By speeding also, he doubled-down on stupidity.
    Since he has shown that suspending his license is not effective because he ignores it, what’s next. Community service, jail or something else? Revocation of his license is essentially the same punishment but for a longer duration and he has demonstrated that wouldn’t work. Speeding is one thing but driving without a license or on a suspended license is a calculated act. He did that one on purpose.
    At least they did not find Mary Jane in the car, so this is a positive, not a negative.
    As a Broncos fan I was about to purchase a Von Miller jersey but for some reason I decided to wait. I am so glad I didn’t get one now. I hope Von gets his act together but until/unless he does I will not wear his number.
    Von Miller you ass clown!
  128. snakeskinsoul says: Sep 11, 2013 10:28 AM
    can you say Entitled? The rest of us get pulled over speeding AND without a valid license and our car gets impounded and we go to JAIL.
    His dad was with him….can you say good parenting?
    I’m sorry Von, but I’m starting to think you’re just stupid…
    The Broncos finally learned to live without DJ Williams when they played well without him…Hey Von you watch the game last Thursday? Broncos don’t look like they need you…you can be replaced.
    10-1 he says it wasn’t his fault.
    The number of yahoos advocating for the incarceration of a guy for a suspended license and other minor traffic offenses is impressive. Then we wonder why jails and prisons are over-crowded. No thought to how we (the electorate) feed the prison industrial complex.
    Also, if your drivers license is “the most important thing in your life”, you don’t have a life.
    Keep funding and actively participating in your own subjugation, ya humps.
    How long until Polian and Brown say they had Miller off their draft boards? I say the “twelfth of never”. I love hypocrisy.
  136. annes22 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:37 AM
    How does he get away with this twice?? Any normal
    person, without all his money would be in big trouble. Way to be a complete idiot doing it a 2nd time. Maybe it’s time to “grow up” and learn the rules of driving, obviously doesn’t get it.
    He’s also suspended for drug use, so his life is in a bit of a mess.
  137. painsyndicate says: Sep 11, 2013 11:39 AM
    Where was the loaded, unlicensed handgun, paper bag wrapped 40oz and bag of weed? I thought that was the standard crime scene evidence of 60% of NFL players when pulled over. The police must not have looked hard enough.
  138. vwbrown19 says: Sep 11, 2013 11:51 AM
    This idiot should have been locked up obviously he doesn’t take any of this seriously.
    This guy went to Texas A&M right?? I mean they obviously teach you to abide by the rules there….
    Geez- he and budonkeydunk Suh have a lot in common…
    and Denver is seizing control of being at the top of the list….
    (USA TODAY) Under Goodell since 2006, the average number of arrests or citations per team is 12. Denver leads the league with 25, followed by Tampa Bay with 22. Overall, since January 2000, Cincinnati and Minnesota topped the league with 40 arrests each out of 674 arrests and citations.
  144. colofan8 says: Sep 11, 2013 12:51 PM
    This cop is obviously not a Broncos fan.
  145. granadafan says: Sep 11, 2013 12:58 PM
    Well, tack on a few more games to the suspension. One instance for trying to provide bogus (non-human?) urine sample and another instance for the multiple reckless driving arrests.
  146. craigkintexas says: Sep 11, 2013 1:32 PM
    Let’s see, I’ve heard doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results………Sounds like Johnny Football and Von Miller are nut cases from Texas A&M.
  147. hrmlss says: Sep 11, 2013 1:37 PM
    Of course he did….
  148. elway6532 says: Sep 11, 2013 1:49 PM
    I’m a 20 yr. plus Broncos fan, and I love to watch Von play, but WOW is has this guy gotten messed up.
    All of the sudden, I think I understand why this guy picked a degree in “Poultry Managment” at Texas A&M.
    “Do the chickens have large talons?”
    Von may be living the life of Uncle Rico here pretty soon. “I’d take State!”
    Get aquainted with Nylon Polymer Von. I sense a promising career in sales in your future.
    Wow I would love to see a list of NFL players driving records. There needs to be a provision put in these guys contracts that requires them to drive cars that have regulators only allowing them to go 65 mph max and breathalizers attached to the ignition. The get a truckload of money and spend $100,000 on sports cars that go 200 mph, and no one can figure out why they keep getting citations. It’s bad enough we have to deal with teenagers getting licenses, 80+ year olds who can barely see, women on cell phones, or doing their makeup, now we have NFL players posing as nascar drivers. Bring back the horse and buggy!
  150. szwhtsup123 says: Sep 11, 2013 2:32 PM
    Wow this guy turns out to be a great player, then fools you into thinking he may be smart by being articulate and weary those goofy nerdy glasses. Next thing you know, you find out he’s a stoner and now this!
  151. sullijo1 says: Sep 11, 2013 3:23 PM
    Trade him to the Siberia of the NFL – Jacksonville!
    Done with this clown…..he can roll with his crew there and lose 14 games a year while the Broncos are in the playoffs.
