Bush’s collection of injuries grows

Bush

Lions running back Reggie Bush told PFT after Sunday’s season-opening win over the Vikings that he can handle 25 touches per game all season long.

Those 25 touches, however, can lead to plenty of injuries.

His list of conditions officially has expanded to three. On Wednesday, he fully participated in practice with a finger (actually, thumb) and groin injury. On Thursday, Bush fully participated with a groin injury and a knee injury.

Either the knee wasn’t injured on Wednesday, or the Lions decided they’d better disclose the knee injury on Thursday, given that Bush blabbed to NFL Network about it on Wednesday.

“It’s funny, the dislocated thumb came on the first drive; the pulled groin came on the second drive,” Bush told NFLN. “And then I hyperextended my knee in the second quarter -- it was like I had everything going against me in that first half and then thankfully enough I able to kind of settle down.”

Bush has shown in recent years a durability some thought he didn’t possess. But those limited touches in his earlier years are helping him now.
