On Wednesday, the Packers had neither tight end Jermichael Finley nor left guard Josh Sitton at practice.
Things took a turn for the better on Thursday. Both players were able to be limited participants for the Packers, keeping up hope that both starting offensvie players will be on the field for Week Two against the Redskins.
Finley’s return was a bit of a surprise as coach Mike McCarthy previously said that he didn’t expect Finley to be back on field until Friday. Finley didn’t do much on Thursday, but McCarthy said he’s making progress and the fact that he was ahead of previous expectations would seem to bode well for his chances of playing on Sunday.
Sitton was out Wednesday with a back injury, but was also to do limited work on Thursday and McCarthy said that he was also making progress. Both players are expected to practice on Friday and they’ll likely be expected to play on Sunday if they’re able to put in another day’s work.
