Chris Long held out of practice with hip injury

Chris Long AP

Rams defensive end Chris Long is still a 50-50 shot to play Sunday against the Falcons.

But the trend does not look promising.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Long didn’t practice Friday and will be listed as questionable with a hip injury.

Long practiced fully Wednesday, but was listed as limited Thursday.

The Falcons line could be in flux, but missing Long takes away from the Rams’ ability to exploit that.

I think Chris Long plays. He’s a tough dude. After all his dad was in Broken Arrow.

As good as Chris is, there isn’t much of a drop-off at the Rams deepest position. Will Hayes and Gene Sims would start for most teams.

“Chris is fine,” William Hayes said. “He’s OK. Yeah, he’s fine. He just needed a day off just to relax. We’ll be all ready to go.”

^^ that tells me Long is playing

The rams have depth they did lead the league in sacks last year.

I am sure Chris Long will play. Has he ever missed a game?

If he misses the game William Hayes and Eugene Sims are more than capable. If I’m the Faclons though I’m more worried about stopping Robert Quinn.
