Finley probable for Packers, Sitton and Burnett questionable

Green Bay Packers Jermichael Finley drops a catch during his NFL season home opener football game against the San Francisco 49ers in San Francisco Reuters

Tight end Jermichael Finley’s toe issues didn’t take long to clear up.

Finley reportedly traveled to Minnesota for treatment on his injured toe early this week and didn’t practice Wednesday before making an unexpected appearance at practice on Thursday. He practiced again on Friday and the fact that he was limited doesn’t seem to have much impact on his status for Sunday.

The Packers listed Finley as probable, which means that the Redskins will almost certainly have to deal with him in Week Two. That’s good news for the Packers offense, which would be in even better shape if left guard Josh Sitton is able to play.

Sitton is questionable with a back injury and was limited in practice for the second straight day. Safety Morgan Burnett, who missed Week One, is also questionable, although coach Mike McCarthy said that he is ahead of where he was last week. McCarthy said the way Burnett’s hamstring responds to Friday’s work will be the determining factor for his status for the game.

…I’m honestly not used to having ok news on the injury front, I’m used to having near a dozen guys out on IR by now.

    Roses are red
    Violets are blue
Packer fans need to stop talking about to Vikings
    Because you’re 0-1 too…

Vikes got smoked by a far inferior team to the 49ers…at least the Pack made a game of it in Candlestick.

And by playing or not playing…. nothing of value will be lost and nothing of value will be gained….

McCarthy is way too cautious…Finley will play and Sitton as well, but my guess is Burnett will sit out.

we really need Burnett in there!

    Packers 34 Skins 20

    ________

How the mighty have fallen. It used to be “We’re going to win the Super Bowl!” Now it’s “At least we made a game of it!” and sending your players to Minnesota for treatment.

Yeah, and Ponder got married in Wisconsin. Rumor is he was able to “thread the finger” on just the second try.

    @ Rick

    ————————-

Not quite – Instead of writing a missive on here, I’m making the point that the Pack look 1,000 times better than the Vikes…Sure both teams are 0-1, but a starkly different 0-1.

Pack fans are looking forward to the season after the first game. It’s full-on panic mode here in Minneapolis.

Of course Finley went to Minnesota. You can get the best steroid and HGH treatment available there.

Just ask AP. Ammiright, or ammiright?

And the last time the Vikes played the 49ers….they made a game of it, and WON!

Before you spout off about the inferiority of the Lions, you might want to wait until they get a crack at the Packers. After all, the Vikings beat them twice last year, too, scoring more points and allowing fewer than the Packers did.

Or better yet, how about we wait and see how Oct 27 works out. By then you should have your excuses all lined up and ready to use.

Or you could ask the guy that put on over a hundred pounds between his freshman year in college and the day he was drafted…… Granted, his hair probably accounts for 15 of those pounds, but still……

Did Sitton sprain his arms with all the holding he got away with last week?
