Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander’s first action of the 2013 season came to a quick halt last Sunday when he was ejected for throwing a punch at Seahawks right tackle Breno Giacomini.

As you’d expect, getting ejected was just one part of Alexander’s punishment. PFT confirmed with the league that Alexander has also been fined $15,750 for taking a swing at Giacomini.

We have also confirmed that Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright has been fined $7,875. Wright was given a personal foul for dragging Panthers safety Colin Jones off the pile of players battling to get their hands on a ball that caromed off a Panthers player on a Seahawks punt. The Seahawks recovered the ball, although Wright’s penalty put them in worse field position when the offense returned to the field.
