On Thursday, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he was comfortable playing cornerback Prince Amukamara on Sunday with just one practice under his belt for the week.
Amukamara got that practice in on Friday, his first since suffering a concussion against the Cowboys last Sunday night. Amukamara wasn’t a limited participant in the practice, either. He’s listed as having gone full on the team’s final injury report and is officially questionable for the date with Peyton Manning and the Broncos.
Barring a recurrence of concussion symptoms after practicing, though, it’s a good bet that the Giants will have Amukamara on the corner. They’re going to need all hands on deck to stop the Broncos passing game and Amukamara’s full participation on Friday indicates he’s passed every one of the tests required by the concussion protocol to this point.
Less clear is the status of safety Antrel Rolle. He didn’t practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday with a groin injury that comes on the heels of the sprained ankle that slowed Rolle in the preseason. It does look like center David Baas will make his 2013 debut, however. Baas practiced fully and is listed as probable after missing the opener with a knee injury.
