Redskins to waive Pat White

Pat White AP

We noted earlier Saturday that Washington would need to open a roster spot to add placekicker John Potter, who has reportedly been signed in the event Kai Forbath (groin) can’t kick on Sunday at Green Bay.

According to ESPN 980 in Washington D.C., the club will be waiving quarterback Pat White to make room for Potter.

The 27-year-old White earned a roster spot with Washington this summer after two full seasons out of the NFL. He was listed as Washington’s fourth-string quarterback.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Washington is “likely” to re-sign White if he goes unclaimed by another club.

White completed 28-of-50 passes for 330 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in four preseason games for Washington in 2013. He also rushed for 103 yards and three TDs on 19 carries.

I thought he looked pretty decent running the read option. I feel ike there are worse QB’s in this league.

    Why?

White was the 2nd best QB on the roster, behind Cousins

He was listed as Washington’s fourth-string quarterback.

The Redskins kept 4 QBs on the roster !! That’s a misprint, right?

I’m just spittballing here, but why do I think Pat White will attempt to rejoin the concussion plantiffs’ suits vs the NFL? Oh yeah, its about getting paid.

Too bad , , Shanahan staked his reputation on Grossman, and Beck.

    He could’ve went double-or-nothing.

    And let the Grossman hating begin in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

There weren’t many whites in the NFL to begin with – can he file an EEO claim?

Both guys play like a rookie. One is a rookie, and he doesnt wear a fairy band in his hair. I would say give the rook the ball.

Shouldn’t Pat White be forced through this site to change his name?

    Just askin…

Remember when the Redskins lost to the Eagles? Just a friendly reminder to those Redskin fans who have gotten concussions since last Sunday.
