The Cowboys will have a pair of veterans joining the lineup for their game in Kansas City on Sunday.

Defensive end Anthony Spencer and guard Brian Waters are both active for the Cowboys. Neither played in the season opener against the Giants, but things were pointing in the direction of their presence in the lineup all week.

Spencer had knee surgery in August and missed the entire preseason, but practiced this week and said he was “getting ready to play” late this week. He’s expected to split time with George Selvie, who played well against the Giants last weekend.

Waters will be making his Cowboys debut and Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News, that Waters would see “significant playing time” against the Chiefs. Waters’ lack of familiarity with the offense won’t extend to the stadium. Waters spent the first 11 years of his career playing home games at Arrowhead Stadium.
