Buccaneers guard Carl Nicks was able to return to practice this week after dealing with a MRSA infection in his foot, but he’s not quite ready to return to game action.

Nicks is among the inactives for the Buccaneers for their Sunday afternoon meeting with the Saints. He was listed as questionable heading into the game, but the team obviously felt he wasn’t ready to make a full return. Gabe Carimi will start at left guard for the second straight week and the Bucs have to hope he’ll do a better job than he did against the Saints.

Quarterback Dan Orlovsky, cornerback Michael Adams, running back Peyton Hillis, tight end Tom Crabtree, defensive end William Gholston and defensive end Steven Means are also inactive for Tampa.

For New Orleans, wide receiver Robert Meachem is active and Nick Toon is inactive. Tackle Terron Armstead, running back Khiry Robinson, defensive end Glenn Foster, defensive end Tyrunn Walker, safety Isa Abdul-Quddus and nose tackle Brodrick Bunkley were also left off the active roster for the Saints.
