Mike Wallace off to fast start in Indy

The Dolphins said they weren’t going to force the ball to wide receiver Mike Wallace, but it is winding up in his hands all the same.

Wallace had three catches for 46 yards on the team’s first offensive possession, including an 18-yard grab from quarterback Ryan Tannehill for a touchdown. Wallace created a bit of a stir last week when he refused to talk to the media and told them to ask the coaches about why the game plan only led to one catch for the team’s big free agent acquisition.

Another encouraging bit of news for the Dolphins offense was Lamar Miller gaining 12 yards on two carries. He only managed three yards on 10 carries last weekend, leaving the Dolphins without much of a threat in the run game.

Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri put a 52-yard field goal attempt off the upright on the Colts’ first drive, so it is 7-0 Dolphins in the first quarter.
