Panthers defensive backs dropping like flies

The Bills came into the game thin in the secondary.

The Panthers appear intent on catching them in that department.

Safety Charles Godfrey was just carted off the field with an ankle injury and will not return.

The Panthers lost starting cornerback Josh Thomas to a first-half concussion, and replacement Josh Norman just left the field with what appeared to be a knee injury. He walked off the field under his own power, however, and they’re describing his return as questionable.

The Panthers didn’t come into the game with a secondary you’d call deep, or good. They’re now using D.J. Moore alongside Captain Munnerlyn, and those are the only two corners they have left on the game-day roster (James Dockery and Melvin White were inactive).

The Panthers are up 7-6 after an impressive two-minute drive by Cam Newton just before half, but the Panthers are quickly running out of bodies on the stop-side.
