The Saints defense is turning in its second straight strong performance against the Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon, but they’ll need to continue the task without cornerback Patrick Robinson for the rest of the day.

Robinson was carted off the field in Tampa after going down while being blocked on a running play. The cart came out as quickly as we can remember any cart appearing on the field and the Saints medical staff was quick to put an air-cast around the leg during the short wait for assistance getting off the field.

Robinson had to leave last week’s win over the Falcons with a foot injury, making it two straight weeks that New Orleans has been thinned out in the secondary. It hasn’t impacted them thus far as Cam Jordan forced Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman to fumble on a sack shortly after Robinson left the game.

It’s still 10-7 Saints with 11 minutes to play in the third quarter.
