Prince Amukamara is expected to play after Week One concussion

Amukamara

In many cases, a player who suffers a concussion one week ends up missing the next week. For Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, who sustained a concussion when colliding last week with teammate Ryan Mundy, the exception likely will be the rule.

Per a league source, Amukamara is expected to play on Sunday against the Broncos.

Amukamara technically is listed as questionable. He was cleared this week to practice. To play, he must be cleared by an independent neurologist and team physicians.

He also must remain symptom free. Technically, he could be cleared and then uncleared, Ben Roethlisberger-style.

For now, it looks good for Amukamara. Which is good news for a Giants team that needs to try to hold Peyton Manning to single-digit touchdown passes.
