Bush has no structural damage to his knee

Bush Reuters

Lions running back Reggie Bush may eventually suffer an injury that knocks him out for multiple games, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Per a league source, an MRI on Bush’s injured left knee shows no structural damage.

Bush admitted that he “wasn’t himself” after leaving the game and trying to return.  He was confident the MRI would result in good news, and it has.

The Lions will need Bush if they hope to win in Washington on Sunday, where Detroit has a Millen-Marinelli-style 0-21 all-time record.

With that DC defense getting rocked in back to back weeks, Megatron and the rest of his Decepticons may have a decent shot to crack that goose egg.

    Fantasy owners can exhale…

    …until next week’s game

Bush is going to be lucky to play 16 games this year. If he does though the Lions have a punchers chance at a playoff run.

I think it’s safe to say that streak will end this week. This is by far the worst Redskin team they’ve faced during that streak and there defense is already looking all-time bad. Then you factor in their Jaguaresque offense that doesn’t function unless they get a QB who is a run threat. Looks like an easy road win for the Leo’s if there was ever such a thing

I haven’t seen Detroit play yet this year, but Washington looked pretty horrible yesterday. On that alone, it seems like it should be an easy Lions victory, but those are usually the ones that end up getting you.

    My money’s on 0-22 all-time.

History has nothing to do. With RG III at less then 100%, Lions roar
The Redskins have been giving up tons of points in the firt two games.
Shanahan is lost as a coach
Perfect for those DC leftist losers

I agree the Skins are playing terrible but the Lions haven’t exactly lit the world on fire. This game is a toss up IMO.

Good to hear Reggie doesn’t have structural damage. Don’t wish anyone hurt. On the other hand, I wish someone would show Schwartz the door.

Whether Bush is back or not…the Coaching staff will find a way to give the Skins their first win.

Meanwhile the Detroit coaches are holding a meeting now to find more ways to get Bush the ball…

I’m a die hard Lions fan, but I wouldn’t place money on them winning. They are good enough to beat any team in the league, but dumb enough to hand the game over when it matters. That distinction is usually the difference between 6-10 and 10-6 season record. This game is a toss up.

Linehan’s play selction blows. You cannot run a reverse in the NFL!.. Okay…so let’s open the game with it.

Huh, we still have 3 time outs?!?!? Who cares…We have enough points for now.

Why throw Calvin the deep ball….? Peterson is too good! Why dont you try Linehan…?

FIRE HIM! Mayhew needs to set the tone for “Urgency”… There is none!!!

    3-13 at best….

That’s good news . Even if he can go I would still not start him in Washington.
Give the ball to Joique Bell, get the tight ends more touches and play good defence … and I think the Lions can beat the Skins.

Reggie Bush should send Sean Payton a nice bouquet of flowers for using him so sparingly in his early years.
I know he wanted to be a bellcow back all the time but had he been used so much when he was in New Orleans he wouldn’t have gotten the nice contract in Detroit.

As a Lions’ fan, the only team I’m worried about is the one coaching on the Detroit sidelines.

  20. metrocritical says: Sep 16, 2013 7:49 PM

If Bush and Fairly can contribute, the odds improve. HOWEVER, what is more likely, a 1-2 Lion team or an 0-3 Washington team? Based on the historical body of evidence and the coaching staffs of each team, Lions might be looking at another extended skid.
