MRI coming for Brandon Weeden

AP

Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden has a thumb injury.  The X-rays were negative.  The MRI may not be.

That’s the next step in the process:  Weeden will get a closer look taken at the thumb.

The team has confirmed that the MRI will happen.  As best we can tell, Chris Mortensen of ESPN was the first to report an MRI is coming.

Depending on the outcome, Weeden may not be available for Week Three at Minnesota.

As coach Rob Chudzinski has said, it’s unclear whether the replacement would be Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer.

The Browns lost Weeden, the rats lost ray rice. I’d say the Browns won that exchange.

    lol!

  3. “The injury occured when Brandon got his thumb stuck in the earhole of his helmet trying to block out the hometown boos.”

Lame. Nice try but dont hurt yourself. The game was in Baltimore funny guy

  4. Weeden -the oldest and worst of the QBs drafted his yr. God bless the Browns, please don’t put another bad QB from the state of Ohio in the game.

  5. Did they do a brain scan too, to determine why in the world was he thinking signing a contract with Cleveland. Should have know better, especially at his age.

No worries… hearing rumors the Browns have been in contact with Art Schlichter’s agent!

Ravens are the world champions for about 15 more weeks. They will not make the playoffs. Your offense was terrible yesterday vs the Browns. And your Defense is lucky that my Brows have a god awful offense. Like someone else said above, Peyton Manning and his 7tds say hi! And real classy wanting to hurt the other team, typical b.s. from a Ravens fan.

  8. The Offensive Line is horrible so Weeden has had to force everything. Hopefully the Browns will manage better and get Trent Richarson going so that they can set up the play action and give their offense a chance. But Norv Turner broke the Chargers and it looks like he’s doing it again in Cleveland. Play more Trent Richarson, thats the remedy there!

Rice didn’t even need an MRI since his injury was so mild. Looked to me Pierce had a better time running over your D than Rice did anyway.

Not here to rub it in; just too many losses from that Browns team to even have fun with it.

Only someone significant emotional deficiencies can laugh at a man’s injury and long for more.

  11. This is funny. No wait; it’s pitiful.
They’re going to keep looking at his thumb until someone finds something….anything. This is the front office/coaches way of benching Weeden without benching him. I’ve got to believe they’ve seen enough but they know his replacement will be even worse. May as well go for the high draft choice next year and let it all happen “due to injuries”. The easy way out.

  12. And browns fans were acting like brandon weeden was the second coming of kurt warner during the preseason. brandon weeden sucks and hes too old to get better. cleveland blew it in a quarterback heavy draft.

  13. Yeah the browns may have looked pathetic on the offensive side of the ball in the first two games, but the “D” is solid. The browns need recievers that can catch. Josh Gordon should help, this week. I can say for certain after watching the game yesterday , the Ravens will not be repeating as champs, let alone win the AFC north. What a drop off from last year.

  14. Just an excuse to bench him. Instead of practicing the Browns are taking their good old time getting him an MRI. MRI will happen Tuesday which means no practice which means Campbell or Hoyer will be taking the first team reps.

Does it really take that long to stick that hand inside the tube to get the MRI? I don’t think so.

  15. You can but you can’t put it all on weeden cause receivers drop balls and the right side of the line got blown up the first two games. I’ve seen better high school kids block better then the right side of the line

What’s funny is that both of Cleveland’s backup QBs are better than any of the QB options in Purple Pansy Land.

    Browns by 4.

    TDs.
    …………..
You probably actually believe this. Attention…….your Viking hate is showing and is more ridiculous than ever!
