Ryan Clady has Lisfranc sprain

Clady AP

The initial indications regarding the foot injury suffered by Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady on Sunday against the Giants were positive.  Sure, he was spotted with a walking boot after the game, but the widespread word was that he is fine.

Those initial indications have yielded to something not quite as optimistic.

Per a league source, Clady has a Lisfranc sprain.  He is expected to miss at least a few weeks.

Clady received a major contract in the offseason after recovering from shoulder surgery.  He protects the blind side of the not-so-mobile Peyton Manning.

Chris Clark is listed as the second-string left tackle.  Coincidentally, he has a new contract.  He’ll now get to earn it.

That’s too bad. That means the refs will have to not call holding on someone else for the next few weeks.

The Broncos have played the last two Super Bowl Champions in their first two games. Not sure what a “real team” is then? Where you thinking of bring the 85′ Bears out of retirement?

a few weeks? he’ll be out at least six, and more likely more than that. the broncos have shown that they are talented enough to survive a lot of missing pieces, but this could be the straw that breaks the peyton’s neck.

We didn’t just beat them we slaughtered them.. And Clark is adequate enough to get through these next 3-5 weeks. Look who we play.. All mediocre to crap teams.

Just wanted to say that YES…

Peyton is one bad play away from retirement, but so is EVERY OTHER PLAYER in the league.

    Carry on.

I hate no team. I observe and comment.

Clady is a very good player, but he has been blatantly holding since he came into the league.

The NFL is funny in that certain players get repeatedly called for holding or personal fouls, while others skate by their entire careers.

You better get some sacks out of it, Raider fans.

Can’t see the Raiders scoring enough to keep up with those guys.

Most Raider-Bronco games are close though.

  29. bauer49 says: Sep 16, 2013 4:10 PM

Wow, Raider fans good to see myopia is not dead. Raiders are two to three years away from being a good team. Denver will bury you this week no matter who plays at Left Tackle. Wins over the Ravens and Giants are quality wins and Denver will get better when Von Miller and Champ Bailey return. Raiders have already peaked….a win against the god awful Jaguars is as good as it gets. Just Win Baby!. Broncos will own the Raiders this week.

Against the Colts & Jags. Keep thinking you have a football team that can compete in the NFL though. You’ll be back in typical Raider fashion soon enough (regular season hope lost, looking forward to the next off season where you’ll proclaim playoffs like every other silver & crack smoking idiot).

Manning can actually throw the ball. You know, the #1 prerequisite for being a QUARTERBACK. When your boy can actually read a defense and throw the ball, he won’t need to run. Good argument though. Btw, Tebow can actually run too, how far has that gotten him?

Manning can’t play forever and 90% of you Bronco fans like Baltimore last year so the bandwagon wheel will fall off and those 90% will jump on the Raiders when we watch the Broncos start losing when Manning is done.
