Ryan Clady has Lisfranc sprain

AP

The initial indications regarding the foot injury suffered by Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady on Sunday against the Giants were positive.  Sure, he was spotted with a walking boot after the game, but the widespread word was that he is fine.

Those initial indications have yielded to something not quite as optimistic.

Per a league source, Clady has a Lisfranc sprain.  He is expected to miss at least a few weeks.

Clady received a major contract in the offseason after recovering from shoulder surgery.  He protects the blind side of the not-so-mobile Peyton Manning.

Chris Clark is listed as the second-string left tackle.  Coincidentally, he has a new contract.  He’ll now get to earn it.

  1. Queue ignorant posts from all the idiots and their “Peyton is one hit away…” comments. Meanwhile the Broncos will continue their winning ways.

  2. Yawn…..wake me up when the Broncos play a real team.

The Broncos have played the last two Super Bowl Champions in their first two games. Not sure what a “real team” is then? Where you thinking of bring the 85′ Bears out of retirement?

  3. “Raiders have 9 sacks in 2 games. Make it 14 in 3…”

Let’s see Colts Oline is not good and really Jacksonville is soo bad they almost sack themselves!

  4. a few weeks? he’ll be out at least six, and more likely more than that. the broncos have shown that they are talented enough to survive a lot of missing pieces, but this could be the straw that breaks the peyton’s neck.

We didn’t just beat them we slaughtered them.. And Clark is adequate enough to get through these next 3-5 weeks. Look who we play.. All mediocre to crap teams.

  6. well in all reality raiders will need all the help they can get…so we will take it….Both of our starting LT’s are out…..so no excuses there.

Go Raiders…double up the left side – sack manning!

  7. At least he’s missing time due to an injury unlike most Bronco players who miss time due to drug and alcohol related issues #hash tag mountain high….

    Best comment ever.

  9. Neither a Bronco’s Fan, or Anti-Fan….

Just wanted to say that YES…

Peyton is one bad play away from retirement, but so is EVERY OTHER PLAYER in the league.

    Carry on.

  10. “Mad about something dalcow4……….Don’t hate!”

I hate no team. I observe and comment.

Clady is a very good player, but he has been blatantly holding since he came into the league.

The NFL is funny in that certain players get repeatedly called for holding or personal fouls, while others skate by their entire careers.

Cue the people who don’t realize “queue” is the wrong word here.

Great observation! Queue makes sense, too, but most people really mean cue when they say it.

Pretty sure they just beat the last 2 SB champs…. badly.

  13. You better get some sacks out of it, Raider fans.

Can’t see the Raiders scoring enough to keep up with those guys.

Most Raider-Bronco games are close though.

  14. Wow, Raider fans good to see myopia is not dead. Raiders are two to three years away from being a good team. Denver will bury you this week no matter who plays at Left Tackle. Wins over the Ravens and Giants are quality wins and Denver will get better when Von Miller and Champ Bailey return. Raiders have already peaked….a win against the god awful Jaguars is as good as it gets. Just Win Baby!. Broncos will own the Raiders this week.

And you’ll still lose by thirty-plus. Enjoy the sacks, though.

Here come the Raiders with 9 sacks in 2 games.

Against the Colts & Jags. Keep thinking you have a football team that can compete in the NFL though. You’ll be back in typical Raider fashion soon enough (regular season hope lost, looking forward to the next off season where you’ll proclaim playoffs like every other silver & crack smoking idiot).

say what you want, but at least ours does not need a cane, geritol, and and metamucil….pryor can actually run, something the old man manning can not do.

  20. Typical obnoxious Donkey fans…go out and pay a ridiculous amount of money to a QB who will win you exactly zero SuperBowls.

Can’t wait until he retires and see you pukes go 4-12 for many years down the road.

  21. If I remember correctly, that can hold players out for a while. From a Chiefs fan, I wish him well in his recovery. Don’t like seeing anyone get hurt.

Manning can actually throw the ball. You know, the #1 prerequisite for being a QUARTERBACK. When your boy can actually read a defense and throw the ball, he won’t need to run. Good argument though. Btw, Tebow can actually run too, how far has that gotten him?

Right… Because Peyton Manning needs to run around to shred defenses. He got his 60,000 yards passing by being a mobile QB. Sorry I forgot.

How long since the Raiders have had a winning season? How many times have you drafted in the top 10 in the last decade? Top 5? Unbelievable how these idiots puff their chests out after beating the worst team in football.
    Commitment to excrement.

Typical idiotic Raider troll. Wouldn’t you love to have the “problem” of needing to fork over that much cash for a QB. Or any player for that matter. Can’t wait until the Raiders suck ten straight yea…. Oh wait…

  26. Same injury as Le’veon Bell and it looks like he’s out 6 weeks, and that’s with a minor Lisfranc. Likely you won’t see Clady until late in the season at the earliest.

  27. lol lol lol lol lol lol lol @ TRAIDER fans that actually have the NERVE to open their mouths….
ELEVEN YEARS WITHOUT A WINNING RECORD…. just beat SORRY Jacksonville and theyre ready for a parade in downtown Oakland.
    Typical…. Go BRONCOS!

Actually, Tebow got just as far with the Donkeys as Manning has, only Tebow cost much much much less.

  30. As a broncos fan, I honestly miss when the raiders were competition than just that team you are supposed to beat, and if they beat you it was their Super Bowl. Miss the good ol’ days.

  31. all good mules…funny how the raiders have had losing seasons like you point out,but seem to have won 7 of the last 14 against you donkeys…

  32. Raiders have more sb trophies than the broncos, raiders are winning the overall record. denver is the lease classy franchise in the nfl. im confused what the argument is?

    Raiders 27, Broncos 24

Peyton goes down 5 times. Lamar houston beats up a fan. Book it

  33. robgilman

Ohhhh puhleeeze! The Raiders haven’t won a Superbowl in more than 30 years (that’s more than a quarter of a century ag0).

Denver, the least classy fancy franchise … compared to the Raiders? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah … that’s a good one …. you’re killing me … Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

  34. Bronco fan acting like all they do is beat the Raiders. Raiders 59-44-2 record against the Donkeys with a 59-14 route in 2010. Manning can’t play forever and 90% of you Bronco fans like Baltimore last year so the bandwagon wheel will fall off and those 90% will jump on the Raiders when we watch the Broncos start losing when Manning is done.
