Chance Warmack says J.J. Watt is “just another guy”

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had two sacks, two pass deflections and five total tackles in Sunday’s win over the Titans, but Tennessee rookie guard Chance Warmack wasn’t overly impressed.

Warmack said after the game that Watt is a fine player, but there’s nothing different about playing against Watt than anyone else.

He’s just another guy, a talented dude. But he puts his helmet on just like me,’’ Warmack said of Watt, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “I am not going to give him any more credit than he deserves – he’s a talented player. But everybody has a weakness, and he does, too.”

Watt may be just another guy, but he’s another guy who dominates on the defensive line like no one else in the NFL. Warmack may just be trying to say that he approaches every game the same way, but it was an odd thing to say after Watt whipped the Titans.

Is Warmack the guy Watt was calling “Mayweather” in the MNF sound clips last night?

Warmack obviously has not found his weakness along with the rest of the league.

Peyton Manning puts his helmet on just like Christian Ponder too.

    Then what is Chance Warmack?

Tool. The rookies of today are far different than of yesteryear.

Warmack: “Yeah, he dominated me but there was nothing special about the domination. It’s not like he had a kajillion sacks against me.”
    Keep telling yourself that, bro!

I’m a huge Titans and Bama fan and I love the attitude. He gave him his due but isn’t going to lick his shoes and why should he? If you watched the game – and I did – Watt made his usual allotment of impact plays but he didn’t dominate like he does some games. And Warmack caught him on several good blocks to open holes for CJ who had close to 100 yds rushing.

Watt is great and Warmack will be a starter in this league for a decade or more. This will be a great matchup twice per year going forward.

Didn’t Watt have 2 sacks against this guy? Watt lined up against this guy all game, If he was just another guy, He wouldn’t have a multi-sack game.

… Yeah, just another guy you held for most of the game without the refs calling it.

Watt did not whip the Titans. the Titans gave that game away, and the Texans are not that good. offensive linemen never get the credit they deserve, and remember, this is only Chance’s 2nd NFL game. Watt should’ve had 10 sacks going against a rookie, but he didn’t.

  12. johnnyjagfan says: Sep 17, 2013 10:21 AM

Rookie mistake. People practice with racquetball rackets taped to their hands to simulate Watt’s ability to bat down passes. He should keep his mouth shut about Watt.

But, he’s a Titan. He’s destined for more mediocrity.

Not really a JJ Watt fan but this guy sounds like a dope.

  14. xmiksticky says: Sep 17, 2013 10:33 AM

As a Titans fan Watt is a beast but he had his lowest regular season grade since week 10 of last season so while he had a good game it wasn’t like he was unstoppable. Second of all this was warmack’s 2nd game did Watt beat him yes would 3rd year Warmack block a rookie watt… yeah the matchup winner would probably be switched

  15. Grulks says: Sep 17, 2013 10:33 AM

Ahem, if Watt is just another guy, then what does that say about the beatings he gave your teammates? That they are lesser men?

  16. almighty1 says: Sep 17, 2013 10:34 AM

I wish my team had “just another guy” on it.

  17. detectivejimmymcnulty says: Sep 17, 2013 10:46 AM

Watt should’ve had 10 sacks going against a rookie, but he didn’t.

    *facepalm*

  18. darrett71 says: Sep 17, 2013 11:47 AM

Is that why JJ Watt got 5 Tackles, 2 sacks and 2 passes defended and a TFL? As just another guy, I don’t think there is a team in the NFL that wouldn’t want JJ Watt.

More idiots. Wasn’t there an idiot last year that said something like this last year too?

  19. dalcow4 says: Sep 17, 2013 12:05 PM

Watt doesn’t look as dominant as he did last year. The Chargers’ mediocre line handled him pretty well. Even Jeromey Clary stuffed Watt several times.

  20. ramblinhamblen says: Sep 17, 2013 1:12 PM

LOLOLOL @johnnyJAGfan saying that Titans are destined for mediocrity.

Watt is the best DLineman in the NFL, but would you rather Warmack say “Yea he’s the best, and he beat me for two sacks, and I’m lucky it was only two” or say what he said, which he followed up with by talking about how he was going to hit the game film and improve so that he can do better next time out.

  21. doe22us says: Sep 17, 2013 3:28 PM

Geez Warmack he beat your butt all over the floor, simple you got dominated and move on, no need in being butt hurt.

  22. stabbymike says: Sep 17, 2013 4:07 PM

Im sure Watt said the same thing about him.

  23. cdollaz says: Sep 17, 2013 4:15 PM

You sound like a clown, rook.

  24. voiceofrealism says: Sep 19, 2013 7:47 AM

That’s not disrespect, it total ignorance and immaturity.
