The Jacksonville Jaguars are turning to another discarded cornerback from an NFC West team in hopes of improving the depth in their secondary.
The Jaguars claimed Jamell Fleming off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals on Monday. Fleming was a third round pick of the Cardinals in 2012 and appeared in 15 games as a rookie. He recorded 23 tackles and a pass defensed last season.
It’s not the first time this offseason the Jaguars have looked toward players released from teams in the NFC West. Jacksonville signed cornerback Will Blackmon after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks during their cutdowns to 75 players in August. Blackmon is already starting for the Jaguars and has recorded four tackles and a pass defensed in two games with the team.
The Cardinals had released Fleming in order to activate receiver Kerry Taylor from the practice squad.
