The St. Louis Rams picked up a cast off from an NFC West rival on Monday by claiming offensive tackle Mike Person off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

Person was released by the Seahawks on Saturday to make room for the re-signing of defensive tackle Clinton McDonald. Person spent the final nine weeks of the 2012 season on the Seahawks active roster but did not appear in a game. His only appearance in a game came against the Carolina Panthers Week 1 as he served as an extra tight end in Seattle’s jumbo packages.

However, he was only on the field for two snaps and recorded two penalties - a false start and a holding.

To make room for Person on the roster, the Rams placed safety Matt Daniels on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Head coach Jeff Fisher said that Daniels will have surgery this week.
