    I disagree with this assessment, “The Buccaneers are 0-2, but the team’s linebackers aren’t a big reason for the two losses.”

    I agree the LBs have played well, but LaVonte David’s insane out-of-bounds personal foul on Geno Smith took an unmakeable field goal and made it very makeable. His foolish play was directly responsible for taking a sure W and turning it into the L.

    So the NFL thinks there is an advantage to an illegal shift call when the offense isn’t set for one second, but illegal formations are nothing to obsess about. The NFL officiating and explanations continue to be consistently inconsistent.
