Bengals place Robert Geathers on IR

Geathers

On Monday, the Bengals said farewell to safety Jeromy Miles. On Wednesday, they brought him back.

Miles has filled the roster spot previously occupied by veteran defensive end Robert Geathers. Geathers has been placed on injured reserve with an elbow injury suffered on Monday night against the Steelers.

Geathers has spent his entire career with the Bengals, becoming a full-time starter in 2007 and bagging 33 career sacks. He was not a member of the starting lineup in 2013.

The 1-1 Bengals also signed free-agent cornerback Curtis Marsh, a third-round pick of the Eagles in 2011. In turn, the team waived first-year linebacker J.K. Schaffer, who had been elevated from the practice squad for Monday’s game.
