The San Diego Chargers signed former Buffalo Bills cornerback Crezdon Butler Tuesday and waived defensive tackle Drake Nevis.

Butler has played for the Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers after being selected by Pittsburgh in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Butler has appeared in 13 games in three seasons and recorded four tackles and a forced fumble serving mainly on special teams duty. He was teammates at Clemson University with fellow Chargers’ defensive back Marcus Gilchrist.

The Chargers had claimed Nevis off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts following final cuts. He did not appear in a game with the Chargers. He had appeared in 14 games while making three starts for the Colts over the last two seasons. He’s recorded 35 tackles with a sack and a pass defensed.
