The Texans have a couple of important offensive players dealing with injuries and coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday that things are looking good for one of them.
Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that Kubiak said that wide receiver Andre Johnson “should be ready to go” in time for Sunday’s game against the Ravens. Johnson suffered a concussion late in last weekend’s overtime win against the Titans when he was hit by safety Bernard Pollard, who picked up a sizable fine as a result of the unpenalized blow. While the team didn’t miss him too much because of DeAndre Hopkins’ exploits, things are going to go much better for them offensively if Johnson’s on the field.
Things are less clear when it comes to tackle Duane Brown, who is battling a case of turf toe. Kubiak said that there won’t be any determination about Brown’s status for Sunday until the end of the week.
On the other side of the ball, things are still up in the air regarding whether or not safety Ed Reed will play in his return to Baltimore. Kubiak said he is “as close to playing” as he’s been to this point in the season, but it will be closer to game time before we get any definitive call.
