ProFootballTalk: Why Hoyer over Campbell?

With Brandon Weeden sidelined due to a thumb injury, the Cleveland Browns have elected to start third-string QB Brian Hoyer over veteran Jason Campbell.  Mike Florio says the Browns coaching staff believes Hoyer better fits their game plan against the Vikings and it was the right move to announce it this early in the week.

When your choices are “Jason Campbell vs. Someone Else”, you take Someone Else every time. Come on.

You play Hoyer because you traded for him in case this moment occurred. Give him a chance to run your system. Oddly enough, they brought in Deon Lewis and he ran great before he broke his leg. They have a plan.

Because Hoyer has better and faster reads and reaction times. His pre season game looked very good (it was pre season of course) Given that, good choice in my estimation.
