Rams agree to terms with Max Starks

With right tackle Rodger Saffold expected to miss time with a sprained MCL, the St. Louis Rams have sought out help to bolster their depth at the offensive tackle position this week.

They claimed Michael Person off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Monday and added another tackle to their roster Wednesday night.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have agreed to terms with former Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers tackle Max Starks.

Starks appeared in 123 games, making 96 starts for the Steelers over the past nine seasons. He spent training camp with the Chargers in competition with King Dunlap for the starting job at left tackle. When Dunlap won the job, Starks was released and has been on the free agent market ever since.

With Saffold out, Joe Barksdale is expected to start at right tackle against the Dallas Cowboys this week.

The Steelers, with all of their line problems didn’t want Max Starks. That tells you all you need to know about his level of play at this stage of his career.
