The Panthers have a slew of injuries compromising them in the secondary for this weekend’s game against the Gaints, but the visiting team looks like it will also be shorthanded in the defensive backfield.

Cornerback Corey Webster has been listed as doubtful for the game with a hip injury. Webster was able to practice in full on Wednesday, but he didn’t practice on either Thursday or Friday and the designation means he has just a 25 percent chance of playing on Sunday.

Assuming Webster misses the game, the Giants will choose someone from the group of Jayron Hosley, Terrell Thomas and Aaron Ross to play across from Prince Amukamara. Ross played a fair amount in the opener, but didn’t see any defensive snaps against the Broncos last weekend, while Thomas moved into the third cornerback role and did not perform particularly well.

The Panthers will be without cornerback D.J. Moore and safety Quintin Mikell with cornerbacks Josh Thomas and James Dockery both listed as questionable. It’s shaping up to be a busy day for the receivers on both teams.
