LaRon Landry ruled out for Colts

The Colts, who have no shortage of injury concerns, are expected to be missing one of the NFL’s leading tacklers for Sunday’s game at San Francisco.

Free safety LaRon Landry, who has 26 stops in two games for Indianapolis, was ruled out on the club’s injury report Friday after missing his third consecutive practice with an ankle injury.

Also, Colts starting inside linebacker Pat Angerer is doubtful with a knee injury. Like Landry, Angerer has not practiced all week.

A third defensive starter, defensive end Cory Redding, was added to the injury report with a back injury. He is questionable after not practicing on Friday.

In potentially better news for the Colts’ defense, strong safety Antoine Bethea was able to go through a limited practice Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday. Like Redding, Bethea is questionable.

Joe Lefeged, Sergio Brown and Delano Howell are the Colts’ reserve safeties.

The Colts also list center Samson Satele as questionable. He missed practice on Friday with an elbow injury. He went through full workouts on Wednesday and Thursday.

Every other active player on the Colts’ injury report is probable, including wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who practiced on a limited basis Friday with a groin injury.

  1. But, but, but this is the greatest team in the world according to their bandwagon fans. They just traded for a shiny new RB (who has a career average of 3.4 ypc) and they are going to win the Superbowl.
Their defense was bad when everyone was healthy, now it might rival that joke Washington trots out there every week.

  2. While I don’t think my Colts are the greatest team in the world…I am also not stupid enough to base a running back’s talent off of his yards per carry when he played for a team with little to know passing threat.

  3. @peytonsneck
I hate to say it, but we all told you so. Landry is overrated, and often injured. But hey, check out those triceps, biceps, and forearms. Muscles go a long way when you are sitting on the bench.

  4. I love how people keep bringing up Trent’s ypc… Everyone know Ladanian Tomlinson’s ypc in his rookie year? 3.6

    He’s pretty good, eh?

Also Trent’s forced 14 missed tackles so far this season. Best in the NFL. Also he forced 59 missed tackles last season, good for top 6 in the NFL. What does that tell you? He’s having to break tackles the moment he touches the ball on most of his runs.

Can’t wait to see him play a full season on a decent team.

  5. Look at all the H-A-T-E flow for my COLTS.
You are clearly mistaken cletusvanidiot, the Colts are not the greatest team in the world according to their bandwagon fans, THEY ARE THE GREATEST TEAM IN THE WORLD according to the only person that mattered last night, your mother, she had them allllllll. YEA THATS HOW WE ROLL IN INDY BIATCH!!!

  6. Excuse me…but Landry and ankle???? Sure it’s not the Achilles flaring back up? Dude flat our refuses surgery and if it is the old injury flaring up I think he’s done.
