Lions may hold Bush out as a precaution

Detroit Lions v Arizona Cardinals Getty Images

Lions running back Reggie Bush wants to play on Sunday. The Lions may not let him play.

Bush has a knee injury, and the Lions have listed him as questionable. Technically a 50-50 proposition, the scales could tilt toward shutting him down for Week Three.

Per a league source, the Lions may opt to play it safe with Bush. They want him to be available for the long haul, and so they’re inclined to give him a week off to heal before putting him back in harm’s way.

Keep an eye on this one. If he travels to D.C. on Saturday, the decision may not be made until pre-game warmups.

No reason to play him. If they can’t beat the R words with Bell in the backfield they should walk home.

    He will play

Maybe Bush can talk them into at least giving him a coin toss 2 hours before game-time for a chance to play. If I’m “Questionable”, let the coin decide, that’s a true and fair 50-50!

Shouldn’t this article be titled, “REGGIE BUSH IS NOT PLAYING AGAINST WASHINGTON DC (redskins) BECAUSE THE NAME IS OFFENSIVE AND ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THAT THE NAME IS NOT OFFENSIVE, OBLIVIOUSLY DOES’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HISTORY AND I AM FAR MORE KNOWLEDGABLE THAN ANYONE WHO READS THIS BLOG”

It’s always good to hold out of Bush as a precaution… unless you are ready to be a father

This young man has a lot of heart. We really got to see what Reggie is made of once he left N.O.

If Washington’s D continues to struggle then Joique Bell and LeShoure will suffice.

Considered yourselves lucky if you get 8 games out of Bush in a season. He’s quite the delicate player.

  18. mattjay0101 says: Sep 21, 2013 5:42 AM

    ….and your 1-2.

Schwartz will be back with Fischer in St. Lois this time next year.

Lions are deep enough at this position they can rest Reggie for a week. Smart play.

Washington better not fall to 0-3 or their fans will implode.

  26. essentialsausage says: Sep 21, 2013 11:05 AM

I’m more concerned about Nick Fairley not playing. He was dominant in game one, but was held out in game two. The Lions need his disruptive presence on the D-line.

I bet the higher up’s in the NFL like goodell are sending orders to detroit to sit bush so their golden boy rg3 has a chance to win sunday so the media can go nuts again with non stop articles and comments about how the greatest qb in the history of mankind finally won a game.

    Paper mache’ Lion.

the lions offense must hit the field in high gear and score touchdowns! we do not have a field goal kicker! so you can not run a play to lose offense and you must play as if this is the season on every down and every play and the most important catch the ball! yes run bell and reddick! leashoure is not an option his days in Detroit our over ! Hope fully Broyles ready for today it would great to have him on the field if he is ready!
