Saints will be without Harper, and possibly Evans

The Saints will be without safety Roman Harper this week because of a knee injury, and could be without someone they’ve counted on for years.

According to Katherine Terrell of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, veteran guard Jahri Evans is listed as questionable, after missing the whole week of practice with a hamstring injury.

If he can’t go, it would end a streak of 114 straight starts, the third-longest streak among active players. Evans hasn’t missed a game since being drafted in 2006.

The Saints also declared safety Isa Abdul-Quddus out, and listed running back Mark Ingram (toe) as questionable after he missed practice all week.

    Ingram being out just improved running game. Wasted a pick on Reggie Bush, Mark Ingram. No RB is worth a first round pick. Maybe they will learn their lesson. Eventually.

    If the Saints didn’t sign someone they expect Jahri to play.

    They only have one b/u Guard/Center.

    Ingram has not done squat. However, Reggie Bush was an important part of the Saints offense when they won the Super Bowl.

    I didn’t know that offensive linemen had hamstrings.
    That’s usually a fast guy injury.

    @Halbert53: Except for Adrian Peterson…

    Loomis and Payton can’t hit on every single draft pick. I think their track record regarding drafts and UDFA’s since ’06 speaks for itself.

    I have listed ingram as questionable from DAY 1. I guess this is my chance to say ” I told you so”.

    Deactivate Ingram or trade him the way that the Browns traded away his old Bama running mate, T-Rich.

    A loss Ingram, aka Ron Dayne Jr., is anyone except his employer’s gain!

    Evans needs to forget the streak and heal up. He’s looking like a scrub out there. Normally the guy is a rock, and the most dependable player on the team.
