Fred Davis injures ankle, questionable for Sunday

Washington tight end Fred Davis has injured his ankle and is a late addition to this week’s injury report.

The team announced on Saturday that Davis suffered the injury and is now listed as questionable for Sunday against the Lions. There’s no word on when or how Davis injured his ankle; he was a full participant in every practice all week.

Although Davis is listed as Washington’s starter at tight end, he hasn’t been getting a lot of playing time. In last week’s game against the Packers, tight ends Logan Paulsen and Jordan Reed both got more snaps on offense than Davis, who was on the field for just 15 plays.

Davis said it was “a surprise” and “frustrating” that he spent most of the Packers game on the sideline. Now it’s possible that he’ll spend all of the Lions game on the sideline.

At this rate he won’t be re-signed. Jordan Reed will take his job for sure if Reed can block well.

Davis is done!….Reed is a beast in the making! HTTR!

That’s why I got Reed on my fantasy football team this week.

    Problem one was the suspension.

    Problem two the injury.

Problem 3 a cheaper option with less baggage.

    Taxi for Davis.

should have let him sign up with the browns cause he is a shell of his former self.

This is how the Redskins bench somebody.

They have been high on Reed since training camp and so far he has outplayed Davis.

    Fred is yesterday’s problem.

Unless Davis can cover receivers and tackle, the skins don’t really need him. This team is awful.

Doesn’t matter, it’s not like he would make any difference or anybody on that team for that matter especially that sucky QB RG the Turd. This team is irrelevant to the NFL.

I’m disappointed. Fred Davis’s opinion on the redskin team name is nowhere to be found in this post.

    Well there goes the season…
Goddamn, what a scrub. Even the most mediocre players step it up in a contract season, at very least to deceive their next employer. For a guy who demanded a big FA payday just six months ago, Davis seems to be working hard at putting together the worst season of his NFL career. He was never going to be a superstar, but he was a very serviceable, and occasionally dynamic starting tight end. Right now he looks ready to head to Cleveland on a one-year contract to back up Jordan Cameron.

I wouldnt be shocked if Davis has failed yet another drug test and the Redskins are doing without him to see what they have when this surfaces and he gets suspended….
