Ravens running back Ray Rice has started 43 consecutive regular-season games.
However, that streak is reportedly likely to come to an end.
The Ravens are “slated’ to start Bernard Pierce at running back on Sunday against Houston, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reported on Saturday, citing a source.
Rice, 26, has missed all three days of practice this week with a hip injury. He is listed as doubtful on the injury report.
According to Wilson, Rice’s ailment is seen as a “two-week injury.”
A second-year pro from Temple, Pierce has rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown in 28 carries in the Ravens’ first two regular-season games.
